Descriptor

A special term used for the text in any of the ten descriptor fields: Person, Client, Project, Subproject, Activity, Hourly Rate, etc. (note that the names of these fields may be customized).  For example, "XYZ Corporation" is a descriptor that tells what client the work was performed for.
